This recipe is great for so many reasons. Firstly, it will strengthen your blood as the powerful vitamin C and iron in the beet juice will help clear any blockages and promote safe transportation of other nutrients around your body. The ginger always works for me as a bowel mover, so I add in a big chunk. Great if you are struggling with IBSC. It also soothes the gut and provides a really nice kick to the juice.
I’m not one for bland flavours and with IBS women often ‘go bland’ with their foods feeling that they don’t deserve to eat tasty, exciting foods incase their gut doesn’t like it. Also a lot of the information out there advises to steer clear of herbs and spices as they may upset your gut. In truth, out of the thousands of women I have worked with over the years very few have actually struggled with herbs or spices. And this is something I work closely with each new student on using the IBS Freedom Method… but I digress.
Back to the juice. The apple is full of pectin and this will help to stabilise the gut, enable your energy to rise and your skin to clear. And I added an orange for extra vitamin C. Well, half an orange to be exact as I ate the other half whilst preparing the ingredients. I just couldn’t resist it! Oragnes are a great way of staying extra hydrated due to their water content and also of course another great source of vitamin C.
So, all in all this is a SUPER JUICE which will help to heal your gut, calm your stomach acid, promote health bowel movements (you can still enjoy this with IBSD as they nutrients boost will help to soothe your spasmodic bowel) and not only that just LOOK at that colour! And as an extra bonus it tastes awesome!
I hope you enjoy this little beauty. Of course organic fruits are best as they are more nutritious and we want to reduce toxins in the body from pesticides for a healthy gut.
As always, I am here for you if you are struggling with gut health or IBS, just get in touch for more info…

- Core the apple, peel the orange and ginger, cut everything into small chunks and juice! No need to peel the beet, just wash thoroughly as there is a lot of nutrition in the skin. Same for the apple. Unless they are non organic in which case prob best to peel everything...
- Consume within 30 minutes of juicing, If you want to make a batch however you can still consume within 24 hours, although its potency may decrease by a few %. You can also freeze this for future use if you have a whole batch of fruit and veg to use up. Again it will be less potent than freshly pressed juice but still a hundred times better than bought juice or processed alternatives.
